Five Daily Prayers in the Quran

This article looks whether there is any indication of 5 daily prayers / salaat in the Quran or not. In 4:103, Allah says:

إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَابًا مَّوْقُوتًا

Verily, Salaat is a prescribed duty upon the believers (to be performed) at appointed times [4:103]

Please consider the following references for salaat timings:

i. Salat-i-Al-Fajar (morning prayer) and Salat-i-Al-Aaisha (early part of the night when it gets dark) [24:58]

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِيَسْتَأْذِنكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحُلُمَ مِنكُمْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ۚ مِّن قَبْلِ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ الظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِن بَعْدِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ ۚ ثَلَاثُ عَوْرَاتٍ لَّكُمْ ۚ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ جُنَاحٌ بَعْدَهُنَّ ۚ طَوَّافُونَ عَلَيْكُم بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

ii. tarafay-i- alnnahar (at both ends of the day ; FAJAR and MAGHRIB prayers) and zulafan mina allayli (at nightfall; ISHA prayer) [11:114]

وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ

v. dulooki alshshamsi (when the sun declines at midday; ZUHR prayer) and ghasaqi allayli (when it becomes dark; ISHA prayer) [17:78]

أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ ۖ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا

vii. Alssalati alwusta , (ASAR Prayer, middle of the total 5 prayers) [2:238]

حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَىٰ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ

{Note: in 17:78, the particles li and ila are used. These are used in different meanings including in, at (like English at noon, in the mornings, at night, in the afternoon). In 21:47, particle li is used to mean AT/ON (the day of resurrection). Similarly, in 6:12, the particle ila has been used to mean AT/ON (the day of resurrection).}
