Quran: Surah 1 – Al-Fatiha – The Opening
| 1:0 | With the Glorious Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate [Who has bestowed upon mankind His Guidance], the Most Beneficent [Who showers His special blessings upon those who rehearse it and abide by it]. |
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

|
All the praise, glory and thanks to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds [Who brings things into existence, nourishes, sustains, maintains, regularizes, and directs them from their earliest state to that of ultimate completion and perfection]. |
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| 1:2 | [O Allah, You are] the most Compassionate [Who has bestowed upon us countless blessings without us doing any effort to get them], the most Beneficent [Who reward graciously to those who live according to Your Prescribed Way of Life]. |
الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1:3 | [O Allah, You are] the Supreme Ruler of the Day of Judgement and Recompense [when none whosoever will have power to do anything for anyone and all the affairs will take place according to Your Sole Command]. |
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
| 1:4 | [Realizing these facts, we affirm that] We serve, You alone [by obeying Your Commands and doing only what is in accordance with Your Commands] and we entreat You alone to help us [in this commitment of ours] [We realize that You are the One Whose help should be sought with patient perseverance and earnest supplication]. |
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ |
| 1:5 | Guide us, and cause us to take and keep following the right path that is direct, straight, undeviating, even and balanced [and will surely take us to the destination that You have ordained for us]. |
اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ |
| 1:6 | The path of those upon whom You bestowed blissful benefits [as a result of their obedience to Your Commands], |
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ |
|
1:7
|
(who are) not those who earned indignation, humiliation and misery [as a consequence of rejecting Your Commands], nor those who erred, deviated from the straight path or lost the right course. |
غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ |
